Nas Reaches Out

The tragic death of the 16-year-old honor roll student Derrion Albert,who was beaten to death earlier this week in Chicago has caused quite a stir among minorities. Celebrities such as Bow Wow and Nas have been reaching out trying to help their communities and have even spoken out on the death of Albert and violence in young America.

Nas wrote a letter stating how he felt about the situation and about his own experiences dealing with young violence:

“Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool,” the Queensbridge legend stated. “Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling, that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But we chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, Filas, and name plate chains. Deaths over 'he say she say'!!!!! 'I’m from this block or I’m from that block”, or 'my moms n pops is f***ed up now the whole world gotta pay!!!”

“I remember feeling like I was the hardest n***a breathing. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. But let’s think. What are we really proving? And proving what to who?” Nas challenged. “Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being your brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in your very own household. You have the ability and mind power to change they way we are looked at.”

“Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwing us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Loving to bury us in the ground or in jail where we continue this worthless war on one another. Young warriors, we are wasting more and more time. We got to get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz this movie left the theaters years ago: Juice, Menace, Boyz N the Hood , Blood N Blood Out, Belly!”...

“When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, warriors, and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other,” he detailed. “May the soul of this young person find peace with the Almighty. I’m with you young warriors. You’re me and I’m you. But trust me! You are fighting the wrong war.”

Nas is not the only rapper who has written about his feelings, on the day following the incident Bow Wow tweeted the following:

The Odom's Publicity Stunt?

After two weeks of just knowing each other Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian tied the knot.

They claim it was "true love", while others claim it was a publicity stunt.

The newlywed "Odom's" are covering the front page of OK magazine alongside pregnant sister Kourtney and no-longer-single Kim...could this whole wedding just be for publicity?

Lamar Odom says he is "truly in love." Inside this week's edition of OK, Odom tells reporter that:

“I’ve been a rock star, been on my own. Since I was 16. … doing it (marriage) so fast, there were a lot of family members who couldn’t even agree. So I can imagine what it would look like to the outside person not involved in my life everyday.

“I fell in love and the reason why I knew I was in love was because, I knew how I felt when I wasn’t with that person or if she was no longer in my life. I’ve been in L.A. ten years and never had a problem meeting women...

“But I finally met the one that I knew if had I lost her, it would hurt the most.”

And with the sister tweeting all over about thier cover on OK magazine, its hard to believe they dont mind the extra cash. Kourtney K. tweeted earlier today:

Kim K. and Reggie Bush Back On!

Everyone knew it was just a matter of time before Kim and Reggie got back together,so stop holding your breath ladies.

After her sister's [Khloe] wedding this past Sunday, Kim allegedly took the first flight to New Orleans. Bush's mother and other family members were among guests at the wedding,but Bush did not attend. 

Seeing Bush's family members must have made Kim reminisce on her and Bush's relationship because girl hopped a flight and flew out to be with her ex-beau.The two have not been seen together since their break up 2 months ago.

Chicago Kid Beaten to Death!

In addition to the War in the Middle East there is a civil war in America, and its happening in high schools.

 A 16-year-old high school honor student,Derrion Albert was beaten to death in a brawl on Chicago's South Side [Michelle Obama's home neighborhood].

Reports state that Albert was struck over the head with a 2x4 wooden board,soon after he collapsed to the floor. Albert then struggled to rise onto his feet but was knocked down again by another male teen with a punch to the face.

Attempting to flee the scene Albert ran towards a street corner but was caught by other teens who were preying upon him. 

The fight was broken up by youth workers at the Agape Community Center as police were called to the scene. Albert was rushed to the hospital via ambulance.

The young honor roll student died due to "massive bleeding in the brain...caused by a blunt force trauma to the head."

Chicago police are continuing this investigation and will use the video posted on Youtube to further this investigation.

Rumors were going around that Fabolous crashed while behind the wheel due to poisoning. After hearing the crazy rumors Fab released this statement:

Let me explain,”... “I was drivin yesterday morning & started feeling very sick & felt like I was gon pass out while driving.. I veered off 2 da side of the road Had a ambulance called and they picked me up from the side of the road.. Maybe that’s where the car accident confusion came from..Believed I was poisoned so I checked in & was given medical treatment..a lil sedated so I didn’t tweet but was released 2 go late last nite Again thanks 4 ur concern & prayers.. I’m ok, No car accident, jus a lil sick.. Imma shake it off and GO IN on somebody later LOL!! (Pause) OK, Im feelin much better.. But i will play sick for a big booty, B/C cup nurse… LOL”

Mashonda, Swizz Beats' wife has written A.Keys a letter putting her all her business out there for the world to see.

 Swizz has been hooking up with Alicia Keys for some time now, and apparently has no shame in his game because they do it in public!

Mashonda basically calls Keys a homewrecker.

After having a great evening with my son and enjoying some fun twit chat, I decided to sign off and get some work done. However, a few hours later I was advised that I should check @Alicia keys twit page. I've never reached out to her on twitter before. I feel our issues are a lot more serious than a website conversation. Not to mention that I've reached out to her many times in the beginning of this whole thing, as any wife would do. Unfortunately, I never succeeded in getting a response. The 1st time I meet AK, my husband introduced us to each other at an event. ( I have no choice but to call him my husband, until he is not anymore) In the messages that I sent to her (AK), I made it very clear that on the contrary of what she might be hearing, I am still married to my husband, living with him and just had a child. Its been two years and I still have not received a response. What I do receive, is constant displays of selfishness and disconcern to me and my son.

I was a fan of AK's last album, we were both signed to J Records and I always checked up on her projects. I sang her songs and admired her for creating Superwoman and Karma, I would never deny her, her talent. I believed in her until I found out she was possibly sleeping with my husband. The affair was denied by both, until it was finally admitted months later.

Already I can hear some of you saying " why are u blaming her, You cant make someone leave their wife, You cant break something thats broken". Well, my marriage was not broken, as far as I knew we were celebrating our sons birth and getting ready to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary . Call it blind love, whatever. I call it being a devoted wife.. As far as me blaming her and not blaming him, thats false. Me and my husband have worked out our differences. We are in a good place as people and as parents. I accept his choices and I am comfortable enough with myself to move on. I am so very blessed in many ways.

My concern with AK is no longer the fact that she assisted in destroying a family but that she has the audacity to make these selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone, even after knowing their situation. How is this the same Superwoman that I sang out loud with in my truck? I ask myself sometimes.

If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the ending of my marriage. You know that I asked you to step back and let me handle my family issues. Issues that you helped to create. 

Im not saying everything was perfect all the time but no relationship is perfect. We made a vow to God and I believe you should have respected that, as a woman. I know you owe me or my son nothing but I just wish you would've handled things more carefully. I'm not judging you, I put you and the whole situation in the hands of God, the Higher Power. Just know that as a woman, I expected so much more from you. I never had intentions on reaching out to you this way but after reading your twits tonight, and the constant disregard, you left me no choice. I feel that after 1 and a half years of you hiding this affair and acting like it doesnt exist, that now is the time to confront it, since you talk so openly about it now

This is not a publicity stunt, I dont have a record coming out. I just need to close this chapter in my life and that means confronting our issues. There is a small child involved. His dad loves him to death and he wants to spend more time with him but hes afraid because he knows we don't have a relationship. This is my main concern. My son NEEDS his dad and I NEED to be comfortable with you. For him!

I know many will see my point and many will not be able to look into what's real because they only want to see Alicia Keys the celebrity, not the human. This is not for the "people", this is for you. Like I said I was left no choice but to reach out to you this way. By now, Im sure you want to find a balance in this as well.

I read your tweets tonight and I felt they were very insensitive. You have no idea how much pain I was caused because of this affair. Its baffling to me that you don't understand what I might have gone through with this situation. I dont consider myself a victim anymore, Ive learned alot from this! I just ask you to try and be a bit more realistic and delicate to the situation, at least until my divorce is final. I felt me attending the party would have been a starting point for us, since you shook my hand after I offered it, but I suppose I was wrong.

If its so, that you and my husband are meant to be together, then God bless you both and I hope you never have to deal with what I did. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. If you two being together forever is the case, its more of a reason for us to get along, because I'm not going anywhere. Theres a child to be raised.

To answer your tweet, choose smart over spark. Sparks burn everyone, be smart! Its simple actually, just think of the shoe being on the other foot.
